Homeless Heart

I saw you, cold and alone.

Our eyes met, and you mustered a smile.

I smiled back, and two strangers had a heart connection

.

I don’t know your name. I don’t know how you ended up like you are.

The world can be so cruel and judgmental. Making assumptions. I made none. I simply cared. I do care. I wish I knew your name and your story.

In that moment, all I could think of was the least of them. Jesus. You could easily have been The Savior in disguise. I pray I think that way always - that I treat everyone with kindness and love. My heart breaks for you.

I pray good things come your way, sir. I pray that you know Jesus. I pray that you know that he loves you. You may be homeless here on earth, but you will have a castle in Heaven.

You matter.
